One of my favourite natural gemstones - Zircon, in a rich olive green colour, set in a minimal and contemporary sterling silver band with a rounded thick bezel cup. 

Natural Zircon, not to be confused with the synthetic cubic zirconia, has been set in jewellery since antiquity, and is believed to be the oldest gemstone on the planet (far older than diamonds).

It's a stunning gemstone to look at...with amazing brilliance and lustre. It is doubly refractive, which means that as light enters the gem, it splits in two with the facets of the gemstone acting like mirrors to bounce the light rays out again.
